"We are talking about more equal distribution, not absolutely equal distribution". Oh well... why didn't you say so. That changes everything! What a waste of effort this has been. I'm done with this pointless thread. I need to get back to work. I'm trying to be in the 1%. I'll never get there wasting my time like this.

Slim: I get what he is saying. I just don't agree because it's idealistic and stupid. The idea of "equal distribution" of wealth is WRONG and a fairy tale. If life was a math problem then yes, his theory may be a truth. But it's not. If there was an equal distrabution of wealth, no one would work that hard to attain anything. The economay would collapse because everyone would be depending on the other person to pick up the slack.
Example http://www.sodahead.com/fun/is-this-man-a-genius/question-2060113/?link=ibaf&q=&esrc=s
"An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan". All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed".
These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation. -

When it comes to waiting for health care, Canada is last in line...
by Adam Believed in"a major international survey says canadians wait longer for health care" reports macleans...they go on to say "for decades, wait times have been a consistent and much-lamented component of the canadian health care system".. "earlier this month, the organisation for economic co-operation and development (oecd) released a major survey on international health care waiting lists and policies.
canada is at the bottom of the pack in almost every category".. "finally, and perhaps most depressing, were included in an unhappy group of counties that spend above the oecd per capita average on health care but nonetheless report significant wait times.
we pay more but still underperform".. http://www2.macleans.ca/2013/02/19/when-it-comes-to-waiting-canada-is-last-in-line-2/.

It seems the Canadian health care system is great... so as long is you don't need it or you and your problems can wait!

I have never been offered a job by a poor person. I've been self employed for 14 years now. Most of my clients are "rich" people. I have made a really good living providing a sevice to "rich" people. In turn, I buy stuff at places that employ people. This is how the world works. The less money I have the less I spend. The less I spend the fewer people will be employed. it's pretty simple to understnd. Many of the richest people own companies that employ people. The wealthy people buy things... expensive things. If there were no wealthy (rich) people, I imagine the world would suck more than it does now.
Simon: Someday, when I'm a billionaire, I'm going to buy Canada and use it to store all my useless junk I'm going to own and never use. I will still let you live there... Just don't touch my stuff.

Is The IRS Targeting Religious Non Profits ?(watch out watchtower)
by frankiespeakin inhttp://secular.org/news/atheists-say-irs-not-doing-enough-hold-churches-accountable.
washington, dcthe secular coalition for america today sent a letter to the white house, pointing out additional internal revenue service failings, including neglecting to investigate churches and religious charities that engage in politicking from the pulpit.. in its letter, the secular coalition said religious charities have been flaunting their flagrant disregard for [irs] laws for years.
over 1600 pastors participated in last years pulpit freedom sunday, where pastors not only violated the law by lobbying and endorsing candidates, but filmed their illegal actions and mailed them to the irs.. the secular coalitions letter comes on the heel of another letter sent to the white house by franklin graham earlier this week, asserting that the irs is improperly targeting religious charities for investigation, including the billy graham evangelistic association.

Am I missing something in the article? The one thing watchtower doesn't do is politick from the pulpit... From a congregational point they stay neutral... Right?

" Vaginitis, what's your view"? - "How does constipation really affect your family?"

ambition is not a dirty word
by snare&racket ini can't decide if it is based on jealousy, class or the watchtower.
that shameful cult turned the word ambition into a dirty word.
it made the idea of self reliance and self worth a tainted thing.
-
Adam Believed
So true how words or phrases become dirty according to the watchtower. I recall many years ago a CO gave a talk and he made the point that we really shouldn't say "take it easy." He siad this phrase encourages a "worldy" attitude of laziness and selfishness. So, you can't be ambitious and you can't take it easy or you will get labled as having a "wordly" attitude.

The org fits the profile of a cult (All the Shunning). Told not to speak to a person just because an announcement was made that a person is no longer a JW? WTF!!! No one is allowed to communicate with an Ex-Member. The best way to keep info (TTATT) from spreading. That's a cult if I ever heard of one. Couldn't see that when I was in.
